Last week, one training participant in our Chicago Loop English Pronunciation Skills for Professionals course said, I had no idea that working with my English pronunciation would involve much more than the mechanical copy & repeat of sounds. I smiled and replied, Oh, you mean like the vocal production techniques and side-step dancing moves that we covered?
During this intensive English speaking skills program, we work with
- Vocal presence to project a confident (and connected) sound
- Sound articulation to produce key word clarity
- Rhythm to ensure listener ease (and improved information retention)
Upcoming Chicago Loop English Pronunciation for Professionals Course
So I’ve recently opened up another Chicago Loop English pronunciation skills training program. It’s running from November 2-December 14. Fridays, 3:00-5:00 pm.
The folks who typically enroll in this course are non-native English-speakers who have lived here for at least three years. Most of them have studied in the U.S. and are now working professionals. They spend most of their days in meetings or client conversations. Their goal in working with me is to speak English with more clarity, ease and efficiency.
I’m so glad that I took Sarah’s 8-week program. After a few weeks following Sarah’s methods and practices, my spoken Engish has improved so noticeably that my American colleagues whom I work with everyday recognized it. I work in a law firm, so this improvement is invaluable to me. Sarah knows exactly what I should focus on to improve my spoken English and put it in a carefully designed step-by-step program. The results came fast and clear. I definitely recommend this program. Thang, Lawyer from Vietnam
What I bring into this program includes:
- A keen sensitivity to sound (I’ve been working with this area of expertise since 2003.)
- A structured approach that includes materials for visual, tactile, and aural learners
- Practice tasks geared around real-life communication (e.g., mini-presentations, mock interviews, etc.)
This program is an exceptional opportunity to improve your spoken English. You’ll start with basic pronunciation but will go very deep quickly. Sarah strikes a good balance between fun and learning, so you’ll have a lot of insight without getting bored at the sessions. The materials included a handbook and the access to a well-structured website. If you don’t have much spoken practice, I recommend this program even if you’re proficient in written English. –Denys, IT Specialist from Ukraine
